Ezakiel

“It’s from stress,” says hubby.

“Childbirth did it to ya,” says the doc.

“Bend your knees before you lift,” says Mom.

“You’ve gotta come back to Yoga,” says my girlfriend.

It doesn’t really matter what caused this shooting pain in my right hip. One thing’s for sure. This pain is camping out for awhile.

Stretching?
Massage?
Orthopedic shoes?

Nothing helps much.

I’ve decide to embrace this pain. Adopt it. Welcome it to its permanent home. Christen it with a name even.

“So, which is it this morning, Ezakiel? White hot spear or electric pitchfork? Come on, the ol’ sciatic nerve is waiting…”

“Slow morning, Zake? Here, let me pick up this wiggly toddler. That outta do it.”

“Come on, girls. Piggy back rides for everybody. Ezakiel’s feeling neglected.”

“Babe, the girls need milk for tomorrow and don’t forget the Bengay for little Zakey.”

“What a horrible night. I was up with Ezakiel 4 times. When do they sleep thru the night again?”

And, I’ll never forget the morning I slept funny and woke with a pulled neck muscle.

“Honey! Honey! I’ve got news!.....Ezakiel’s getting a little brother!”

Hopefully now with some company, he’ll be a little less grouchy, ya think? Nothing like a shooting pain suffering from only child syndrome.

I love the way you handle difficult things -- even pain -- with humor.

ouch, ouch... I had my own little Zake visit me last week, and I KNOW how he can be. :(

That sucks. Good luck - I hope you feel better soon (even if it means losing a friend).

Can I post this on my fridge?

Where did you come up with his name? I do love a good baby-naming story. ;)

The other day, the name Ezakiel kinda popped into my head. I have no idea where it came from. I thought the name was funny and so the post stemmed from the name, actually. I think it is a biblical name. So, I hope I didn't offend anyone. I am a bit of a word collector. And, Ezakiel is a top notch word.

Oh Zakey, Zakey, Zakey.

The joy you must bring to Mammatalk.

I hope he gets bored and leaves your body soon. Have a great day.

Could it be Bursitis? Not sure if I spelled it right, but sounds like what my SIL had recently. Hope it feels better soon and lets you sleep through the night.

Ouch! I hope it goes away. I had neck issues years ago and saw a chiropractor. Man, I miss that guy!

Oh man. I can feel the pain behind all the humour.

Funny stuff, but I hope Zakey and his sib move on soon.

I've been gone from your great blog for too long. Its so easy to get lost in bloggyland!

Anyway I second Yaya on acupuncture. It cured my sciatica.

I have a "zakey" that has taken up residence so long in the right side of my neck, it's become like an over-18-and-won't-leave-home-Ezakiel! I'm thinking of charging it rent as an extra stream of income for our family!

Zakey! :-) I've got a little tribe of those. I'm afraid if I named them all I'd be obligated to give them attention!

Gotta hate back pain. I have sciatic problems. Sleep in the wrong position ...ie child has feet in your back you will wake up sore and hurting.
