Peanut Buttery Love

How did people raise children before peanut butter was invented? I mean, it is the glue that keeps this household together.

When the cupboard is bare…

“Hmmm…Wanna quick PB&J?”

On long road trips…

“Well, we can’t stop now. Here, I packed a peanut butter sandwich.”

It’s the staple for picnics….

“Crackers and peanut butter! Yummy!”

It’s the main ingredient in some most favorite snacks…

“…and a peanut butter cookie for you and one for you and two for me…”

It’s delicious on apple slices, celery or banana chunks…

“Mommy, what’s the green thing under the peanut butter?”

It makes for an interesting addition to an old favorite.

“And, I’ll have one scoop of that chocolate/peanut butter combo, heavy on the peanut butter!”

Nothing’s more adorable than sticky, little fingers.

“That is peanut butter, right?”

Rumor has it, peanut butter beats the pants off some of those expensive beauty products.

“Peanut butter lipstick is so fancy, right, Barbie Princess?”

And, it’s the tried and true solution to a common childhood problem…

“I told ya not to fall asleep with gum in your mouth. Where’s that peanut butter?!”

Lord knows the peanut butter-Salmonella scare that hit the headlines last month really de-railed this household.

“How about some cashew nut butter, girls?”

Groan. Groan. Groan.

Like they always say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

This family loves our peanut buttery hero. Please don’t leave us again, PB. Please? Pretty please with peanut butter on top?

Even my dog likes PB--- I give it to him when I want him to stop his barking! haha- yet another use.

I love it but my 12 y/o absolutely hates it, she can't even stand the smell. She doesn't like chocolate either, she must have been switched at birth! :)

Peanut butter has a fan club here too. =)

I LOVE Peanut Butter! Too bad my daughter is allergic to nuts! It is REALLY, TERRIBLY hard to survive in a world where you can't give your child a PB sandwich.

Oh we cannot be without our PB buddy here either!

We love us some peanut butter! The girls love their blueberry bagels with pb & honey for breakfast and I love cereal with a spoonful of pb in the morning (extra protein for that extra boost). Life without PB? Is such a thing possible?

I may or may not be a peanut butter fiend and it may or may not have contributed to the fact that my oldest child detests peanut butter and my middle child could take it or leave it. My youngest still loves his PB&J. but just handed over his Reece's peanut butter egg. Mmmmm . . . his loss is my gain.

I'm am excited that my son has finally reached the age where PB has been given the green light.

Definitely done the PB trick with gum in the hair before.

Next time try Sunbutter (and keep it in the fridge).

It's good, I promise!!

Em - mom to a peanut allergy kiddo, who happens to love grilled soy cheese sandwiches, thank the LORD.

I LOVE PB, but my kids won't eat it. Gasp! I've decided to forgive them, for now.

I love PB&J. So does my older daughter, but not my other two. I buy her regular pb and I buy myself the healthy kind. Lindsey hates the healthy kind. Well, it states it is healthy. My favorite is pb and crackers. Yummalicious!

PB is a family favorite here as well. Let's hope it never goes away again!

Can you imagine living in a country where there's no peanut butter? Don't come looking for it in France!

I would have to agree with everything you said, almost. I would be very resentful if we couldn't stop at a restaurant because of a peanut butter sandwich. It is possible to take peanut butter too far.

Peanut butter IS awesome...but in my house one bite does directly to my thighs and the 3 year old is allergic. That leaves the boys to hog all of the peanuty delight. Sometimes, life is so cruel.....

If I were stranded on a desert island with only one food available to me, I would want peanut butter. Hopefully with some diet coke to wash it down.

I love sunflower butter. Mmm...much better than peanut butter or cashew butter.
