What's Your Poison?

“Would you like a double chocolate, carmello, marshmallow shake?” My daughter asked, chef’s hat eschew. It had been a busy morning in her Little Tykes kitchen.

“Absolutely,” I reply downing it in one imaginary gulp.

“How about a spicy, orange juice, chocolate, fairy slurpee?”

She was pushing it a bit, but what the heck....

“Well, that would be most delightful,” I replied, throwing it down the hatch in one exaggerated swoop.

**What a chaser**

Shortly after, I topped it all off with a cup of mint, peanut butter, raspberry tea.

And, so it continued.

I was served concoction after concoction by my pint sized barista.

At one point, I was tempted to order up something a tad more adventurous, but thought better of it. Parenting always nudges us in the straight and narrow direction, doesn’t it?

By late afternoon, I had fictitiously sampled a vast array of magical brews.

It was a “high tea-happy hour-coffee break-ice cream social“ kind of a thing. Parents of preschoolers, I am sure you have been knee deep in this scenario on many an occasion.

Talk about chugging a lug.

My daughter was now manning the Playskool oven. Apparently, we were moving on to appetizers.

Zebra cheese and goblin crackers, anyone?

As soon as I finish this Play Doh popper, I know I’m game.

It's so fun when they play like that...then they grow up.

Love it! That first one sounds like something I could actually imagine tasting pretty good. :)

I wish I could get such concoctions. My son tries to serve us booger sandwiches almost on a daily basis. He is the only one who gets a kick out of saying it. :o)

My best, Lynn

Tea parties have slowly been starting here. I guess Bitty is getting to that age. I can only imagine what is to come!

Cute! I always get annoyed and end up telling the kids I nanny for that I'm not "full". :)

You have imaginary insulin coma after all those syrupy sweet treats in a cup?

Preschoolers have the best imaginations!!

I've only been offered ice cream from the sandbox, with chocolate of course. Occasionally they are out of chocolate, so I have to make do with strawberries. :S Cute post! Someone mentioned buggers. I'd like to see you spin bugger picking into a fairy tale. :D

lol This made me laugh. I used to be a preschool teacher's assistant and remember things like this vividly. Brought back great memories :)

I love all the imaginative items they come up with for you to drink and eat.

I think she has a future in the restaurant industry.

So cute! I loved when my daughter would come up with imaginary concoctions. Now-a-days it's the 9-year-old "real deal".
"Mom, would you like a peanut butter-strawberry smoothie".
I'm never quite sure what goes into her (mashed with a fork) smoothies. Enjoy them while they're still imaginary. :-)

And they watch us very carefully for an appropriate reaction when we eat or drink their creations!

You know what? Zebra cheese and goblin crackers sound a lot better than what I served for dinner.

Okay, I must admit. This is the reason I have wanted a girl for my whole baby wanting life. I want the pretend food and the easy bake ovens, and the little restaurant stuff. I loved all that stuff when I was younger!

Ah, if only those tasty drinks and snacks were real. You'd be good for the whole day. I'm thinking about getting my sons one of those kitchens for Christmas. That way I can start teaching them to be little chefs.
