Sweep it, Sister!

"I sweep,” My toddler furrowed her brow as she pushed her plastic broom across the Lego littered floor.

“Clean up, clean up. Everybody, everywhere…” My preschooler had discovered my fluffy fuchsia feather duster and was boisterously bouncing around the room in search of cobwebs and dust bunnies.

And, where was I, you ask?

I was directing traffic from my perch on the couch, novel in one hand and a Cadbury egg in the other.

“Over there, darling, over there. The dust bunnies are under the sofa…”

“Atta, girl. Kick those Legos back into the closet.”

“We’ll have this place in ship shape in not time…Hand me the remote, would ya?”

Hallmark moments such as this are few and far between.

Gotta drink it up when you can. Live in the moment. Linger in the sweetness.

‘Cuz these kids can turn on a dime.

“Mommy! I hungry!”

“She won’t give it back!”

“I potty!”

“AHHHHH!”

When I parent like this, I have a Coke and the laptop is on. And my kids aren't helping, they are getting up out of bed or trying to get out of showering!

Ah, well. Certainly can't fault a mom for trying!

Great post!

I knew my 4 y.o was a little version of me the day she stared at the floor (broom in hand-brow furrowed) and said "Wook at all dis garbage!"
That's my girl :)

I'm so glad you found me, and that now I've found you! You really must come pay a visit to my house and train my daughter to clean. She's only a year and a half, but it's never too early to learn!

Love it. I say start 'em while they're young. Oh, and when they're done at your house please send them my way to teach my kids how to work that feather duster!

Love how you captured the moment! I usually have a hook or needle and yarn in hand. My almost 4 year old cleans so well, it is hysterical. Brother takes advantage of her, though, gotta teach her some things about women's equality in the home. ;)

If it weren't for you, I would be totally oblivious to the fact that it's now Cadbury egg season. Sadly, since Yaya left the blogosphere, I have no one to tell me when the Cadbury eggs are in stores any more...

Which reminds me, I gotta post the Cadbury egg videos that were such a hit last year...

A woman can dream can't she? Why don't they make those play vaccuums REALLY work anyway?

LOL. SO TRUE.

This morning as I was visiting a few (20 is a few right?) blogs my 2nd oldest heard yelling/crying/dramatics from teh back area. Since I didnt jump up in terror that someone had drawn blood, she asked if she could go check. LOL
