Mamma Aches...

“It’s from childbirth,” says my doctor after hearing my tirade about my uppity sciatic nerve.

“Pregnancy can do it to ya,” says my ophthalmologist as she writes me a stronger prescription for glasses.

“Bunions worsen with sudden weight gain,” says my foot doctor.

“Ya gotta stop bending at the waist to pick them up,” says my massage therapist as she wrestles with a knot in my back.

“Put some ice on it and elevate your feet,” advises my mom after I whack my shin on the toy bin.

“HUH?!” I say struggling to hear over the kids’ screams.

Mamma aches. It’s a new syndrome.

It does go away in time, doesn’t it?

And, can somebody pass me the aspirin?

I'm not sure it ever goes away...even when they're all grown up & move out, well, we'll probably have a different kind of ache then.

This is soooo me! I went from 20/20 vision to can't drive without glasses after my first child. My sciatic is all messed up after my 2nd, and an abundance of other things let me tell ya!!! Sad thing is.... I have 2 kids and one on the way and I'm only 23. I'm gonna be old before I ever get old!!!!

Nothing ages you quite like parenting... and, yet, I would do it all over again! ;0)

I think they go away and then another crops up...but the kiddos will always inspire you to "suck it up" so you can do one more round of Double Dutch!

Ugh! I totally can relate. So far the pains haven't gotten any better.

Ahhhh...mommy aches. But it is nice to have an excuse. "Oh, what's that? My butt is too big? That's because my kids have to have extra fat in their diet." "Saggy boobs? What are you doing looking at my boobs? Oh, wait, you are my husband. You did this to me!!" etc.

I'm just going to believe it goes away. If after the kids leave the house one day, my aches and pains are still there, I'll just blame Husband Aches.

I don't think they will ever go away, by the time they are old enough for us to stop doing these crazy things, the damage is already done!

Yes...yes...this sounds so familiar. The stuff we go through for the kids! But it is really worth it!
