Stink Eye

So, he gave it to me. A rolling of the eye as I made my observation.

“You forgot to pick up the milk!” I said.

Then, my preschooler gave it to me when I was braiding her hair before preschool.

“Quit squirming around! I almost got it!”

My toddler was next.

“No more cookies before dinner, Missie!”

Even my furry friends were in on it. Not sure what set them off, but it’s easy to know when a cat gives it to ya.

Stink eye. Nothing’s worse.

But, there’s always a remedy.

Eyebrows knitted together. Eyes a rollin’. Lip a curlin’. Throw in a snarl.

Yep.

Right back at ‘cha!

Too funny! I got it yesterday when I picked up my 5 year old from the afterschool program as they were heading out to the playground.

Oh man, it get's worse when they hit about 8 years old. The amount of eye rolling you receive as a mother can't be counted.

Great blog! I really could have used this in the earlier years with my kids, now 6 and 12...I'm now back to both working outside and inside home so to speak, beginning to sort out the tweenie years...it's all wild but good.

Lovely to see you blogging about the earlier years and being at home...tough stuff!

Oh, boy. The stink eye is alive and well in the Jubilant household too. I think I prefer the stink eye to the nine year old talking back though . . .
