I'm all ears!!

“I couldn’t believe it….

Really, if I behaved that way.

To have the nerve…”

Snippets of enticing conversation had slipped into my bedroom from an open window. Eager for a chunky morsel, I moved in for a better look and listen.

A lady pushing a bouncing baby buggy was passing beneath my window on her way to the neighborhood park.

And, apparently, she was knee deep in the most delicious conversation.

“Shocking!

You don’t say??

Really, now?”

Unfortunately, the other party involved in the conversation was notably absent.

Darn Bluetooth.

Takes all the fun out of peering over the fences.

“I just can’t believe the audacity.

Can you run that by me again??”

Yes, please do.

Ooops. Did I say that out loud?

Ahh if only baby monitors could hack into cell phone conversations!

I wish I had a little device that let me hear other conversations!

Once...at work...I was checking the restrooms and this lady in a stall told me Hello..I answered back...she asked how I was...i said fine...

Then a funny feeling came over me and I realized she was on her cel phone.

I walked out and thanked God she wouldn't know what I looked like.

But WHO talks to someone on the toilet..IN PUBLIC like that?

Lol!

Our neighbors have been "arguing" a lot lately and don't ya know my husband and I tend to mute the tv and perk our ears up....

Sometimes there are little snippets of loveliness at nearby tables in restaurants too! :)

Sometimes you just can't help it. We can't just turn off our ears ya know! It happens all of the time in airports - if you don't want people to eavesdrop then they should take the convo some place private. That's how I justify it anyway :)

Ever notice that some people talk a little too loudly when they are having conversations like that? Like they know we are listening and they are just putting on a show for us? Some people will do anything to be the center of attention....like this lady, perhaps she was talking to herself...just hoping to suck you in....or it could've been something really juicy....

ha ha ha, yes. The bluetooth. I always think people really are talking to themselves.

LOL That reminds me of something my audiologist told me when I got my new hearing aids. Apparently there is a feature on them that will allow me to "zoom" in on a speaker to hear them. I haven't used it yet, but the possibilities sound fun.

Something VERY juicy huh?? Use your imagination and fill in the gaps!

I'm always tempted when I hear someone gossiping on their phone to say "hey lady - speak a bit louder so I can get the full story?"

Don't you hate not knowing the juicy gossip - even when it's entirely unrelated?

Of course, the flip side of this is that our lovely corporate nap room has very thin walls and I was subjected to someone taking a complete medical history whilst trying to nap.

The most unnerving thing is when someone is on their bluetooth, (and you don't realize it) and they make repeated eye contact with you. How many times THAT has happened to me in Wal-Mart . . .
