My Monthly Dragon

I have a beast that lives in my closet. Scaly and mean, she naps most of the month. But, sometime between week three and four, like clockwork, she rears her ugly head. It usually starts with a low guttural growl of a warning, escalates quickly, and if not carefully managed, can make an ugly mess.

Hubby is quick to help manage the crisis. His emergency trips to the grocery store are always met with appreciation.

Drop the chips and back away!”

Our darling daughters contribute to the cause.

“Mommy, where’s my Halloween candy?”

Door to door salesmen take one for the Gipper.

“We DON”T want any!!!!!!!”

My OB/GYN offered tidbits of advice.

“There is a birth control pill that has a little Prozac in it.”

And, at the peak of the fury, the bagger at the grocery store offered himself up as a sacrificial lamb.

“Don’t put the EGGS at the BOTTOM!!!!”

Luckily, after scorching one or two victims to the bone, my dragon grows weary and retreats, belly full, to a cozy corner of my closet, nestling her head between my slippers and UGGS

And, a calm settles upon the village……….for now!

HEHEHE....HEY I think that's my damn dragon....GIVE EM BACK! And when it comes...have it bring me something really snazzy from your closet...anything cute...except for the uggs!

Completely creative post! I read it 3 times!

I have a moster too, mine is just very sleepy and we have to hide the chocolate from her. Usually, she is the non-scorching type. That dragon is saved for pregnancy!

Ohhhh this is not a fun time, eh? I say, make the hubby take the kids to the park, curl up on the couch, eat everything salty and sweet in site and then sleep. :)

Your monster has so much personality, I think she needs a name. Maybe, "Smokin' Hottie."

Very funny! Same thing here, I got perscribed the BC pills with Prozac I think though. Is it Yaz?

Also, in my Baby Potential giveaway it isn't a choice of your choosing unfortunately we only have 2 2 give away. So I need you to pick on of the 2.

I also have this dragon of which you speak. The only addition is that she's prone to fits of sudden melancholy, as well as rages and insatiable snack-attacks.

Love the dragon. Feed the dragon. Pacify the dragon.

haha...I think that dragon visits me occassionally too!

My dragon comes with a pitchforked tail that she heats up with her dragon-flame breath, then jabs randomly and repeatedly around my abdomen. Then she breathes her dragon breath down into my abdomen so that it swells and subsequently allows my hindquarters to mimic her exhalations.

Didn't St. George slay the dragon? Mine is tempered by staring at George Clooney, so I'm pretty sure that's right.....

Okay, my word verification for this comment is "unheamin" and THAT is how the monthly dragon makes me feel. Unheamin!!!

Cheers!

Hilarious...you had me rolling.

My husband, the dragon-whisperer, knows how to quiet the beast, "I know it seems like the end of the world, but in a couple of days everything will be just fine." It irritates me, but he is right.

But, seriously. Eggs on the bottom?! Guy had it coming ;)

Why won't that dragon just die already?

As a man, my dragons are in movies BUT as a father, I can easily say that my daughter's dragon could scorch whole city blocks in three seconds flat...that is until she started taking YAZ and her dragon turned into something about as ferocious as Tinker Bell. It was nothing short of a transformation. And that is the extent of my knowledge on this subject.

Doesn't every woman have that dragon? Right on! Although I mine is a little hungrier than I would like.

This is the perfect explanation for any husband who doesn't get it! In fact, there should be a newlywed form in which the wife describes her Dragon so the husband will know how to appease it.

This reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw in Alaska; "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons; for you are crunchy and good with ketchup." Completely random, yes, but somehow pertinent.

HAAAAAA, Dragon! That was great!!

So that is my problem. We have a dragon that lives in our closet. My husband will be relived it is not just me:)

That same dragon lives in my closet. And two more have recently taken up residence in my daughter's closets. When they all come out at once it is very, very scary. I'm soooo ready for my dragon to go live somewhere else - permanently. I think it's close to moving, but I've heard they get even meaner before they depart.
